"yoυ're not good enoυgн." "yoυ're not pretty enoυgн." "yoυ're ѕtυpιd." "yoυ're a huge ғaιlυre." "yoυ'll never aмoυnt to мυcн." "wнy woυld anyone lιĸe yoυ? "wнo do yoυ tнιnĸ yoυ are?" "yoυ're notнιng." "yoυ're not loved."
I'm preeeetty sure that at least one, if not all, of these sentences have run through your sweet heads at least once. Are there days when you just doubt yourself? Do you ever doubt God's plan for you? Do voices sometimes fill your head with lies telling you that you're not good enough, you're ugly, you're never going to get anywhere, and that you're just failing in life? Friends, friends, friends; do you know what that means? ━ why, you've got a goliath. The voice that tells you that you're nothing is a goliath, that voice that mocks you and says you're ugly is a goliath, that voice that's telling you to stop trying is a goliath ━ a giant just trying to steal your joy and your amazing smile. These goliaths are just slaying down our rising generation of young girls + boys. They are raising them to think that if they don't have the body of a certain person in a magazine, earn the money that this person is earning, become as famous + successful as that other person; then they are nothing. These young ones believe it too. I have NEVER seen so many troubled + insecure teens and young children as I have now. It hurts my heart so much when I see kids thinking themselves stupid, thirteen-year-olds convinced that they're ugly; young adults hurting themselves because they feel that they're failing or that nobody cares. These giants have taken a hold of us and we are left defeated and weak. Earlier this spring, I had a goliath whispering in my ear ━ he told me I was a failure, I wasn't smart, that God messed up on me, and that I was just an awful person that got in the way of everybody. I believed this goliath and the more I did; the more lies he told me. The more lies he told, the bigger he got. He was soon a giant, ten feet tall for sure. I felt so tiny + helpless + discouraged as I listened to the goliath and let him push me down. I was a mess; just repeating the words that he said ━ "you're just SO SO not anything." ━ My goliath was huuuuge, probably the biggest giant you've ever seen. My Mom must've noticed my goliath because she's a mom and moms notice things ━ that and, I was creeping around the house with tears and mascara running everywhere *aye, I wear mascara even when I'm distressed* ━ she came to me with two sheets of paper and a note. They were filled with words of encouragement & bible verses that just screamed ━ "Anna, Anna, Anna, it's time to slay your giant." ━ After I looked up each verse, I told my goliath: I am loved. I am beautiful. I am successful. I'm not stupid. I'm not a mess up. I'm not a burden. I am loved. I am treasured. ━ friends, I SLAYED my goliath. I stopped listening to his lies. I quit believing his lies. I stopped letting that giant rule my life and ruin my happiness. Friends, those insecurities you have, that goliath that tells you lies about yourself; they're wrong, wrong, wrong. You are LOVED ━ Ephesians 5:10 You are PRECIOUS in Christ's eyes ━ Isaiah 43:4 You are more RARE than GOLD ━ Isaiah 13:12 God DELIGHTS in you ━ Zephaniah 3:17 He made you and it was VERY GOOD ━ Genesis 1:31 Don't let the giants steal your confidence & joy. Don't believe them. Don't listen to them. Don't let those goliaths talk illy about my friends -that's you- Because that makes me sad & I hate having bullies mess with you. Stand up to them, slay them, fill yourself with scripture, let God tell you what He thinks of you. Believe me, what God thinks is so much more than what anybody else or a goliath thinks. When we choose to believe a goliath over Jesus, that makes Him so sad. He created us, don't you think He knows us? If we fill our heads with all of Christ's words, there is no room for those goliath's voices ━ like sorry goliath, but you are going outta here: bye bye ━ Some of the most righteous men in the Bible struggled with insecurities & voices inside their heads too. David, who was called a man after God's own heart, especially! A large portion of Psalms was written by David. If you flip around in there; you'll see chapters of David writing dozens of prayers to God telling him about his fears, his insecurities, and his troubles. It is so important to take our insecurities and anxieties to the LORD. He wants to hear about them! He wants to assure you that you are so loved, so beautiful, so His, and so precious to Him. He wants to help you slay those goliaths, He wants you to look at Him, not the giants. You got this, friends! Slay your goliaths! Don't let them grow into giants.
Scripture ━ "For You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful; I know that full well. You saw my informed body; all the days written in your book before one of them came to be." // Psalm 139:13-16 "I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies." // 2 Samuel 22:4 "The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: 'I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving kindness." // Jeremiah 31:3 "I have engraved you on the palms of my hand." // Isaiah 49:16 "And because of Him you are in Jesus Christ, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption." // 1 Corinthians 1:30 "You are worth far more than rubies!" // Proverbs 31:10 "You are precious in my sight and honored and I love you." // Isaiah 43:4
